ব্রিগেডিয়ার জেনারেল আবু সালেহ মোঃ গোলাম আম্বিয়া, পিবিজিএম, এনডিসি, এএফডব্লিউসি, পিএসসি
Brigadier General Abu Saleh Md Golam Ambia, PBGM, ndc, afwc, psc was born on 03 June 1966. He was commissioned in ASC, on 26 June 1987. Besides his regimental appointments as Platoon Commander, MTO, Quarter Master, Adjutant, Company Commander, and Battalion Second in Command in ASC units, he commanded Supply Depots, one of the very prestigious Supply and Transport Battalion and two Border Guard Battalions. He commanded Border Guard Battalions during and after the carnage in the than Bangladesh Rifles (at present BGB). While commanding the ST battalion, he was actively involved with voter ID card registration process. He served in ASCC&S as general staff officer 2 (Coord) and as DAAG in one of the Infantry Division. He served in DGDP as Assistant Director Purchase. He was general staff officer - 1 in the Directorate of Supply and Transport in Army Headquarters. He served as Assistant Adjutant General in BGB HQs. He served in UN missions namely UNAMIR and UNPROFOR respectively. Prior to joining TCB, he served as Directing Staff, Armed Forces War Course (AFWC) wing at National Defence College, Bangladesh.
While serving in BGB, for his commendable job he was awarded with President Border Guard Medal besides many other medals in the army. As a pioneer sector commander he commanded one of the newly raised sectors in BGB. Being the first Commander of the newly established sector he has the experience of establishing two other battalions including the Sector HQ.
Besides attending all the compulsory courses in the army, the officer did ASC senior officers' course from India. The officer did his POL course from Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC). The officer did his Staff Course from DSCSC, Bangladesh and National Defence Course (ndc) and Armed Forces War Course (afwc) from NDC, Bangladesh. He has obtained master’s degree on Defence Studies from National University and master’s degree on War Studies from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). The officer did Higher Diploma in Arabic Language from Dhaka University.
Brigadier General Saleh is happily married and a proud father of two daughters. His wife, Mrs Sultana Parvin is a house wife and committed to educating her children in the best possible ways. He is a widely travelled person who travelled Australia, Austria, Bosnia, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Liechtenstein, Nepal, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Slovenia and Singapore. Brigadier General Saleh’s hobbies include gardening, music and making friendship.
